On Friday, Governor Patterson Paterson said New York could be
facing an "economic blood bath." And the Division of the Budget says
unemployment in New York hasn't been this high since 2001, after the
September, 11th terrorist attacks.
Not good news at all.
But...
There's a limit as to what each of us can do as an individual about
the financial crisis of the nation. Certainly worry will not lead
to greener pastures for anyone.
In good economic times or bad, a "good worker" is hard to find.
That's where there is good news for you. You are on this list
because you are serious about working and earning income.
Three quick predictions:
1 - Employers will have to "make do" with less fulltime employees.
2 - Employers will be more dependent on their star performers (the
hard workers who just get stuff done).
3 - Employers, unable to make long term hiring commitments, will
rely more on temps.
