Harry Potter Exhibit Arrives at the Discovery Times Square Expo — through September 5

Harry Potter fans are gearing up for their last hurrah this summer – the release of the final movie Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 on July 15 – but New York City has another Potter treat to enjoy right now. Through September 25, Muggles and Potter wannabes can enjoy The Harry Potter Exhibition at the Discovery Times Square Expo, the  final stop of its North American tour.

The exhibit showcases an extraordinary number of items from the Potter movies, using detailed Potter movie settings — the Gryffindor Common Room, Hogwarts classrooms, Hagrid’s Hut and the Great Hall —  to categorize hundreds of props, costumes and set pieces.

How to Celebrate Earth Day in New York City

On April 22, 1970, nearly 20 million Americans attended the first Earth Day celebration, an event designed to raise awareness of important environmental issues such as pollution, waste, ozone depletion, and wildlife extinction. Earth Day is even more relevant today, focusing on issues such as the increasing amount of garbage in landfills and the rising levels of carbon in the atmosphere, with a goal of helping preserve the health of the Earth.  New York City venues have planned fun-filled events to observe the holiday.

Winter in New York City: Lots of Free Things to Do

Nothing slows down the Big Apple… even cold weather.  Better still, there’s lots to do that’s virtually free.  So book some of the great deals to be had on flights and hotels, and come visit.  Or, if you live here, get moving.  Put on your warm clothes and your most comfortable walking shoes, and hit the pavement.  The Big Apple awaits.
