National Beer Month kicks off this weekend with restaurants and bars in New York City and Brooklyn offering up inviting food and drink escapes from the sweltering heat. Look for the Good Beer Seal created by Mayor Bloomberg in July 2009.

Celebrate NYC’s finest local and German beers now through October at some of the city’s best breweries and outdoor venues. The 3rd Annual NY Craft Beer Week is in full swing, soon to be followed by various Oktoberfest events starting October 1 with a variety of tempting German brews and foods. Various venues hold their own Oktoberfest celebrations throughout the five boroughs, and some festivals are appropriate for families as well with root beer and kid-friendly activities.
